This is not the oldest mosque in Malaysia,actually. Without prejudice, the Malaysian history is still being under discussion. There have been many many more earlier mosque much much earlier, but have been demolished and ruined during the Thai's occupation. More than 50 mosques have been demolished then, purposely to disclaim that Islam was the religion. I wont discuss more, but just to say that this mosque is not the earliest, but its the one survived, so among the present mosques it looks the earliest. Study more and you will find.
