English: Eight Inch refracting telescope. This picture was taken in July 2004 from the Observatories at Chabot Space and Science Centre in Oakland, California. When the picture was taken, the telescope was set up to view Venus in day time. Venus appeared as a crescent when viewed through the telescope.
