Summary
Description |
English: Backgammon is said to be the oldest game in history. The ancient Romans played a game, Ludus Duodecim Scriptorum ("Twelve-lined Game"), which was identical, or nearly so, to modern backgammon. This early game board was found near the agora (the market) in Aphrodisias and dates from the second century CE.

Schools Wikipedia was created by children's charity SOS Childrens Villages. By supporting vulnerable children right through to adulthood, SOS Childrens Villages makes a lasting difference to the lives of thousands of people. Education is a key part of our work, and our schools provide high-quality teaching to the children in our care. Sponsoring a child is the coolest way to help.
