Summary

Description

Reverse of a gold solidus depicting the personifications of Roma and Constantinopolis (Rome and Constantinopolis) enthroned and clasping hands. Roma holds a spear, and Constantinopolis a sceptre. The legend reads GLORIA REI-PVBLICAE, "Glory of the Republic." The coin was issued under Constantius Gallus (pictured on the obverse), who reigned as Caesar 351-354 AD. It was minted at Thessalonica.
