Nederlands: Een Chinese postzegel uit 1950 met de afbeeldingen van Stalin en Mao, die elkaar de hand schudden. Het wederzijdse verdrag van "vriendschap, bondgenootschap en wederzijdse hulp", dat op 14 februari van dat jaar werd bekendgemaakt (maar reeds in september 1945 werd getekend) door de Volksrepubliek China en de Sovjet-Unie, was niet voldoende om een verdere verslechtering van de relaties tussen beide landen te voorkomen, die werd aangezwengeld door de groeiende ideologische verschillen in de interpretatie van marxisme en het buitenlands beleid. Uiteindelijk liep dit uit op het zogenoemde rode schisma.
