English: NURISTAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan -- A U.S. Army soldier with 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, fires his weapon during a gun battle with insurgent forces in Barge Matal, during Operation Mountain Fire on July 12, 2009. The tiny mountain village, in Afghanistan's eastern Nuristan province, was overwhelmed by insurgents until combined elements of the Afghan National Security Forces and International Security Assistance Forces quickly forced the insurgents to flee.
