Raffael zeichnete die Figur der Lucretia nach einer heute verlorenen antiken Skulptur, die um 1500 in Rom gefunden wurde. Raimondi übernimmt bis auf den Kopf die Komposition und überträgt sie in das Medium des Kupferstichs.
