A merged view of platforms 1 and 2 at Liverpool Central railway station. These platforms are for Northern Line services, Wirral Line services call at a separate platform at a deeper level underground.
Class 507 or 508 EMUs are curently at both platforms. As a significant number of services terminate at this station, both platforms are fully signalled for bidirectional use, meaning it is not possible to infer a destination based on which platform a train calls at.
