Below you may read a few examples of children who have been sponsored by supporters of SOS Pakistan:
Amna and Zara This is a case study about two sisters who were aided by the Pakistan Supporters Group (Zara has since married and moved to Chile):Sisters, Amna and Zara* lost their parents in a road accident 12 years ago. They had nobody to look after them. Two UK supporters began sponsoring them when the Pakistan Supporters’ Group was established 10 years ago. Since then, the girls have blossomed into beautiful young women and are happy and healthy. Amna is now 16 years old and is in grade 10 at the SOS School in Lahore. She is an excellent student and loves to use the computer for her studies and enjoys photography. Zara is 18 years old and is in her 2nd year of FA at the Government Degree College for Women in Model Town. She has good marks and enjoys college very much and her future plans are to complete her B.Ed. and become a teacher. Zara’s hobbies are reading, cooking, drawing, and improving her English. |

Farah Farah was living with her parents when the 2005 Kashmir earthquake hit the area. She had seven brothers and three sisters. Sadly, both her parents, two sisters and one brother died when the house collapsed. Her other sisters and brothers were in school at the time, so they survived.Farah’s house was completely destroyed . A SOS staff member took her and her family members to SOS Rawalpindi Earthquake shelter home. Later, about a month after the eartquake, they were moved to SOS Children's Village Lahore. Now Farah is living with other children affected by the earthquake. She has adjusted well and is living happily with the other children. She is in class 2 and attends the school regularly. She takes keen interest in her studies. She is a friendly child and loves to have many friends. |

Saleem Saleem is the youngest sibling among his two sisters and 3 brothers. His father was murdered and his mother died in the earthquake. Saleem was in his mother’s lap when the house collapsed and they were trapped under the rubble. People pulled him out with his mother but they could not save the life of his mother.His family was taken to the SOS Earthquake Shelter in Rawalpindi. He is an intelligent and a bright child.
